The Day Is Approaching
Convocation is now close enough to see on the calendar.
In just a few short weeks, the halls of Strixhaven will open to welcome the incoming class of 2026. Preparations across the University are entering their final stages, and students can begin making their own arrangements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable arrival.
A little preparation now will make the day feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment you step onto campus.
When to Arrive
Student arrival begins at 9:00 AM, allowing time to check in, greet fellow students, and settle into the day’s activities.
Classes will commence promptly at 10:00 AM.
Arriving during the first hour helps ensure that everyone is registered, seated, and ready before instruction begins. There is no need to rush, but punctual arrival allows the day to proceed smoothly for all.
What to Bring
Students do not need to bring much to succeed at Strixhaven. The University will provide the materials required for the day’s studies.
However, a few simple items can make the experience more comfortable:
- A positive attitude and readiness to participate
- Water or a personal beverage
- Any personal comfort items you may wish to have during the day
- Optional costume or thematic attire to join in the spirit of the University
Everything else will be provided.
A Note on Dress
While academic regalia is not required, students are warmly encouraged to embrace the spirit of the University through costume or thematic dress if they wish. Whether that means a full mage’s ensemble, a simple college-colored accessory, or just a favorite shirt that captures the mood of the day, every expression of creativity adds to the atmosphere of the campus.
Some students arrive in full ceremonial attire.
Others attend in everyday clothing.
Both are equally welcome.
Participation in thematic dress is an opportunity to enhance the shared experience, not an expectation.
A Final Reminder About Guests
Students are welcome to invite visitors who may be interested in observing the day’s proceedings through the University Guest Pass program.
Guest Pass holders are welcomed as honored members of the campus community. They may observe the Scholastic Trials, share in the fellowship of the halls, and remain for the evening festivities in the Student Commons.
As the class roster nears completion, availability is becoming limited. Those considering attendance are encouraged to register soon. We still have room for two more students.
Looking Ahead
Next week’s Chronicle entry will serve as the final pre-Convocation message, confirming readiness and welcoming the incoming class to campus.
Until then, preparations continue across the University.
Name cards are being arranged.
Lecture halls are being prepared.
And the faculty looks forward to greeting each student in person.
